The internationally acclaimed painter Dalva Duarte is from Brazil and has been painting and exhibiting internationally for many years. She spent several years in Key West at the Harborplace art colony and made many friends locally. Several well-connected Key Westers have collected her meticulous and absorbing art. Furthermore, the relative warming role of the Pacific, Indian and Atlantic oceans is important for determining Atlantic hurricane activity.
